Well I meant to post more photos, but after everything was cooked it didn't look so pretty! But all I did was spray everything with a bit of olive oil and sprinkle on some dried tarragon, salt and pepper and roasted the lot. The zucchini flowers were pretty tasty (I took the stamens out), but the champion was the beetroot. I roasted the whole lot, leaves and all, and they were just beautiful. The really leafy bits were not the greatest, but the stems were delicious, crunchy yet chewy, and so sweet. I think I could feel my health improving as I ate lol.
I'm Ali and I live in a wooden house with my two boys, our three chickens and Mrs Goggins. I throw myself rather cheerfully but a little haphazardly into life, attempting to grow lots of fruit and vegetables, baking cakes and renovating our house. My mum keeps telling me that I'll "get there one day".
I have lots of enthusiasm for lots of things, and am writing this blog to record my efforts to create a more self sufficient garden and not have to go to the supermarket anymore!
