Now That's a Squash

So this time there is no confusion... this is definitely the beginnings of a squash...
And these, even though I have no recollection of ever purchasing zucchini, have to be zucchini...
The zucchini are really going along well, although I'm not really sure what their next move will be. I know with pumpkins there are male and female flowers, and the females need to be pollinated for the pumpkin to grow. These just seem to be getting bigger along with the flower.

I had also thought that they would grow on a vine, like a pumpkin, but it doesn't really seem like they are going anywhere either.

Perhaps the zucchini is an altogether more stationary vegetable.
