When Eggplants Get Scared

The eggplants seeds have emerged! This is one that I popped into the propagation pots on the 3rd of September. They first emerged at least a week ago, so they really only took a few days to germinate. The propagation pots have just been great, because they are all in a plastic tub together, if you pour the water into the bottom of the tub, the newspaper just draws it up, and your seedlings get watered. I'm so pleased with the pots, they are holding together and doing a great job.
And look who's running scared. Eggplant plant knows there are newbies on the way. New fresh eggplant plants, who will be able to produce enormous, stripey, succulent eggplants for the dinner table... oh eggplant plant, love, care, fertiliser, eggshell cures, fish tank water, pH tests, all these things have been lavished upon you, you know you are valued, but if you don't want to get the chop, you'd better make this eggplant a good one.
Perhaps bigger than my thumb this time?
