Six months ago, my roof started leaking. I was very upset at the time, I had just parted with a large amount of moolah to have the interior of our house painted, and of course it was ruining the lovely new paint job.
Upset as I was, I wasn't particularly worried.
Do you know why I wasn't particularly worried?
I believe my words at the time were, "It's not really a big deal. It never rains here anyway."
Unwise words indeed.
I firmly believe that with those words, I personally started the rainfall in Queensland. And the only way to stop it now, will be for me to fix my roof.
Because I promise you, as soon as that last sheet of mind bogglingly expensive new tin is clapped onto the roof of this house, it will stop raining, and perhaps never ever rain again.
Guaranteed.

I cant believe how much rain you guys are having!! I saw the forecast thisafternoon and its going to get worse! We havn't had rain for a month now and we need it!!! Fix your roof and send it here Ali!!!
Phoebe just poke a hole in yours and you can have some for yourself! The rain is incredible... and it's cold, wet and cold. Cold in Brisbane, in the summer. It's very disconcerting, and to be honest a little depressing.
Sorry about your leaky roof and the rain...not a good partnership is it? On the bright side, I like the peek inside your colourful house.
Get the contractor booked Ali, before you ruin your beautiful floors etc....even if it is a patch up job....old houses and rain dont mix...x

I hope you can get your roof fixed and they surprise you with a low cost. That's why gardening is expensive... you have to take care of "overhead"! Ha! Ha! Just trying to brighten your day.
The color in that room is really nice! It's beautiful how it reflects on the floors! It gives off a very "warm" feeling to your home!

Would it be a good idea to start building an Ark? At least if the rain stops before you need it Hazel might buy it off you for keeping hens and goats in...
Hahaha... I mean, oh, dear. Sorry, I can't help giggling when you make it so comical. I truly hope a "stay of execution" and that your roof fix gives you peace of mind.
Sorry about all the leaks. That pic reminds me of my workplace...the place was built quickly, and we've had deluges of rain all last fall...sometimes I didn't have enough buckets to catch all the drips.
You do have an AWESOME paint job though. I'm going to have to show my husband when he gets home...you're living my dream.

After much thought I had the walls painted red. I'd always wanted to do it, but was a bit worried that it would be too much. It's actually turned out even nicer than I had hoped, rather that out there, it looks very understated and kind of elegant. I am very proud of our house, most of it is falling down, but the other parts are good!
And yes, the roof is getting repaired, I am thinking of just having it patched up instead of the whole roof done. The leaking is driving me nuts!
i will contribute $10 to the roof fund. possibly even more if it makes it stop raining here. I agree Ali, I am so over the rain.

I hope you can get your roof fixed as soon as possible. We also discovered that there's a leak in our roof. My wife seemed worried, since a lot of money will be used for the replacement of our roof. Thankfully, we found the best services we need in Omaha. Roofing needs in our home has been solved right away. I'm sure my experiences on roofing Omaha-based services isn't that bad.
