I didn't blather much today, did I? I was going to go on about what a superior gardener I was again, but I'll save that for tomorrow.
It's Felix's birthday in the morning and I decided to hold his party at 9.30am. Who does that? I worked all day today and yesterday, so of course nothing is ready. It's making me tired just thinking about it and I have been struck by some sort of inertia and instead of baking patty cakes in the shape of the number four, I am watching Spongebob Square Pants.
How lovely, maybe you can use it for a party game in the morning, hide it, and who ever finds the glowing capsicum will get a prize...that is of course, if four year olds know what a capsicum looks like!!!! Maybe dont, they may come running back to you with your peanuts..heaven forbid..!!!
Suzanne, if they touch the peanuts, they are in trouble. If they touch the figs, they are in trouble. If they touch my one almost ripe mulberry, they are in trouble. There are so many things that they will be in trouble over if they touch in my garden, that I can't believe I am letting them at it.
Elsie May I planted those seeds in June last year from memory. They took ages to grow for me as they were crowded out by the corn I had growing next to them. So my capsicums have been a blooming long time in the making!
Just like your mum says, "you'll get there one day"...looks like all your hard work and persistance is finally paying off! Well done Ali, Beautiful Capsicum. Did it taste good too?
MIssy the capsicum was spectacular, we had it in a lovely san choy bow, yum o. I will have to get some blooms blooming here, I'd love to join in on GBBD, just because it's quite fun to say!
GJ you are right, it is paying off. I had no idea that it would take this long to get a garden functioning, lol although it probably doesn't take this long for most people!
I'm Ali and I live in a wooden house with my two boys, our three chickens and Mrs Goggins. I throw myself rather cheerfully but a little haphazardly into life, attempting to grow lots of fruit and vegetables, baking cakes and renovating our house. My mum keeps telling me that I'll "get there one day".
I have lots of enthusiasm for lots of things, and am writing this blog to record my efforts to create a more self sufficient garden and not have to go to the supermarket anymore!

Is that it for today??? None of the usual flowing prose? Gorgeous photo though. Looks as if it was taken at sunrise...

And cathy, already eaten!
Have fun with the party. They are so cute at that age. Great looking capsicum. I bet it tasted good too.
Oh by the way - GBBD is Garden Bloggers Bloom Day. I join in most months. I like seeing what's happening in gardens on the other side of the world.
