26 Days of Planting: X is for feliX planted this!

Okay, they are carrots, they do not begin with an X, and I am cheating, cheating, cheating, but there is honestly nothing out there starting with an X.
Nothing!

So way back then, we decided that our X was going to have to be Felix. And boy did he do a good job. Felix sowed these seeds in December, and they have survived flood, chicken attack, our dog standing on them, and the sides of the box they were in collapsing. He tended to them every day without fail; watering, and prodding and poking, and for some reason, picking them today.

We are having them tonight in a mint and carrot salad, along with roast duck and rice.
I suspect that the apprentice will quickly surpass his master.

As you know, I have been hanging out for this post. I am only allowing this cheating because Felix has mighty powerful 'X Factor'.

Ooo Hazel you sweet young thing. He was so proud of those carrots, and I am lucky, both of the boys love to sow seeds and water plants. I am going to make them a little veg plot all of their own tomorrow.

Awesome carrots, can just hear the crunch and taste them. Had to chuckle at my 4 year old grandson's theory about eating onions. He said if you eat them with carrots they taste really good, better than on their own.
You were asking about my little yellow tomatoes, they are called Yellow Plum Cherry tomatoes.
Have a great day.

Awwwwww x man is gorgeous and tell him x men are the best! Your dinner sounds rather special! Yummmmmmmm!!

My carrots have disappeared. I sure didn't eat them. No one is owning up either. You know I've never had the fortune to eat a carrot I've planted!

I haven't VG, I've got H, I, and Z left... H and Z I am good for, I just have to actually produce them, but I I am not so sure of.

Unless I stick myself in the ground?

I is for I??

Try growing "Icicle" radishes or "Iceberg" lettuce - that's unless you don't have any insects in Oz...?

Ali said...

Lol, why no insects? You mean I is for insect??

I did think of iceberg lettuce, but I think I may have left the season a little too late now... and radishes... I really don't love them Mal... any other I-deas?

ooo funny.

How about "Ipomoea Batatas" which is the proper name for "sweet potato". Can you do something with that?

Ali said...

Mal!! I didn't know that and I have already used sweet potato!!! Ooo and it would have been perfect. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo
