My dear fellow bloggers, today, I show you something which really would not have been possible without winter. Therefore I am truly honest when I say that this is one thing I do appreciate about the freezing cold temperatures of this cold season.
It's my very first homegrown cauliflower.

And not only a homegrown cauliflower, but one that has withstood both my gardening techniques, and the attentions of the chickens to its leaves.
A truly worthy contender for Winter Wednesdays.

Well done Super Gardener! :-) It *will* taste totally fantastic ... with home-grown you can eat the leaves too! Little-miss-green-with-envy I am ;-)
Ooo Elaine it had better taste fantastic - I have around fifty of them planted all around the yard! I staggered the planting so as not to have to eat them all at once though - for once I thought about what I was doing :)
I have total cauliflower jealousy over here, always been my gardening nemesis, but one that I will conquer eventually I hope. Hope it's as delicious as it looks in the pictures.
Wow...that is a bewdy, Mate! Glad you could finally find some real joy in Winter. Oh, and it is sooooo nice to have you back.
Very impressive - wish I was having the same results in winter down this end of Australia. My cauliflower head is about the size of a 50c piece.
That is an absoulute stunner of a cauliflower! Well done!

When you produce such a fine veggie specimen don't you find it hard to eat it? Seems almost like sacrilege.
Very nice!
Aw my gawsh!!!! That is the most beautiful cauliflower I have ever seen :-)
Wow! Looks impressive!
That is one fine cauli you have there. So tight, those florets! Mine are a bit 'looser'. Not sure why. Have you picked it yet?
I haven't picked it yet, no, and I just realised that I don't really know when I should! I will have to look that up. It's still fairly small, so I'd really like to leave it for as long as I can.
I just had two more appear today, so exciting this vegetable growing :)
Wow the cauliflower looks great! Someone told me that to keep the florets white you should wrap the leaves up around it and tie them at the top. Not sure if this works...my cauliflowers are only 2 inches tall so I won't be doing that to mine just yet!
