Winter Wednesdays - It's So Over...

Yep, 21 degrees here today.

Toasty.

I think the chickens are celebrating an advanced, albeit unofficial end to winter here, because these lovely eggs are a sight I haven't seen in months.

I haven't taken a jumper to work for over a week now, and I am pretty sure that this afternoon I almost complained about how hot is was in my room at work. Almost. Winter has left the building.

Do you know what is bizarre though?

Being further north it is of course warmer here in Brisbane during the day than Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide But strangely, colder at night.

Take tomorrow for example:

Brisbane 22 high 4 low
Sydney 18 high 13 low
Melbourne 15 high (is that actually high?? :D) 11 low
Adelaide 18 high 8 low

How do you explain that?

Oops I almost forgot to link up. Here's to Hazel's Winter Wednesdays.

How exciting- Those eggs are wonderful! And as much as I'm envious of your 21 degrees, I'm pretty happy with our 13 degree low!

500m2 I'd swap a 4 for a 13 any day... no wonder it feels cold here in the mornings - it blooming is cold!

Suzanne I know the rain... I feel for you, because I remember our soggy mess here last year. It's kind of hard to imagine right now though, it is brown brown brown and dry dry dry here.

Dixiebelle, if I were to encourage you to visit us here it would be now... not too hot, and almost not too cold. Cloudless warm days. And no BLOOMING rain! Hurry up and rain!

Wee hoooooo! Yar eggs! BOOOOOOOO to your lovely warm days. Sigh. It's frosty here in the mornings. And I'm sick of walking of wet mushy grass every morning and night as I check the ladies (being dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home!)

Very envious of your beautiful sunshine. Send some down here!!

Mrs Bok, here the grass crackles underfoot. I crunch on my way over to check on my two ladies... so yes, would be so happy to share in the sunshine, if only you would offer me a little rain in return :)

Only 12 here today, brrrrr that was cold and winter is most certainly still hanging around. And Suzanne that Pepper Pig has a lot to answer for as my Miss Two ran head long into the first lot of puddles she saw as we left the house..... only minutes after the daily tantrum and tears over getting dressed. Sigh, back inside for a change of clothes and another tantrum.

I just saw your forecast for tomorrow... 24 degrees. Not fair. Don't care if it's colder overnight, still jealous.

Oh, and the weatherman is all lies. It's 9 degrees outside, with 30 minutes to go until 'tomorrow'. :(

Hehehe...I had to remember those were little hands, as at first glance they looked like the world's biggest eggs!

Don't stow the winter woolies yet, Ali. We've just turned cold again here in Sydney, it might be heading your way...

I just have to say that it isn't cold in Melbourne overnight at the moment because we having lots and lots of rain, but once the rain stops, it will be icy icy here and down to about 0 degrees. I can't wait for warmer days and not as much rain. We were having your weather last week.

Hey Ali - Check out the minimum temps out Ipswich way - still down to 1 most mornings and still *%&#! cold when I leave for work. (So different even though we're so close on the map)Our poor ladies still aren't laying, but Winter will soon be over. Yay!

Oh Ali those eggs look delicious!!! Winter is still present at Dayboro...well at least in the mornings anyways. We have had frost the past 2 days :-) xo

Cloud cover generally means it will be warmer at night than when the skies are clear. At least, that's how it seems to work here! :)

I so spoke too soon... it was only 19 degrees (I am a firm believer in a 20+ daytime temp) today and now it's chilly, chilly, chilly.

LadyLeaves it is still toastier at Neill's in Dayboro than it is here - how is that fair! We will have to play soon :)

Phoebe yes, bring on the rain. Please!

Missy, Ipswich is beautiful but I am so not going there in winter. Nooooo way! Rug up!

Dirtandflowers and sorcha, yes I agree, clear skies can make for a cold temp... Having said that, it's cloudy right now and cold. Ha. Brisbane, you are not making me happy.

Are those eggs as huge as they look? Are they in a tiny child's hands? They are gorgeous! I want chickens.
